Yes, 100% we would say the Canon 5D Mark IV is a better camera – but it is also much more expensive ($600+ greater as of what we’re seeing right now), and most people aren’t going to be able to tell the difference in image quality anyways. In 2019, our view of the Mark III’s cons are a bit skewed as we are looking back after having used better equipment. This is especially noticeable in lower light situations – which does make sense, but it’s been improved upon since the release of the Mark IV.

Some of this is the result of the lenses we are using – but we do struggle to catch a solid focus at times (regardless of the lens we are using). The one area we’ve noticed more of a hiccup ourselves has been in the focusing ability of this camera. A few of them are fairly trivial such as the lack of full-frame autofocus sensors (most just sit in a small region at the center of the frame instead of around the top, bottom, sides and corners), no Wi-Fi for uploading photos directly to the internet, no GPS location tagging, and no built in flash.
